hard to find neutral

Post by thisischris » Mon Aug 02, 2010 9:05 pm

Hello,
I'm looking at a 94 VFR400. It looks to be in great shape, runs strong. The only trouble is that I noticed that it is hard to find neutral. I seemed easier to find if I reved the engine while shifting for it. Is this a common thing for these bikes?

Welcome to the nc30, Ive got 3 and they are all the same. Just blip the throttle to 3-4k and it slots in fine or as your rolling to a stop just slot it in neutral then, but its one of their little foibles!!

Get some pics up am sure everyone will give you their advice!!

Great bikes, get it.

Kris

As the two gents above have said,....they all do it,

It is a knack you get and it is pleasing to see other people on your bike failing to slot it in....

mine does it too pal, just blip the throttle and pop her into neutral, if stationary with engine off, just roll the bike back and foward and she pop into it ;)

Thank you for the quick replies. You guys are very helpful. I did commit to purchasing the bike. It's actually for my wife. I just bought myself a CBR 400 last week and she was jealous. Now I'm the one that is jealous. These bikes are rare to find here in Canada. Good to know there is some good support on the web.

So I picked up the bike today. Found a few small problems. Rear brake is terrible, chain seems way too tight, leaking fork seal. Other than that she runs strong. Tomorrow I gotta check out the rear master cylinder and caliper.
