nc24 fueling
tried to ride the vfr today but when the fuel is turned on it just pisses fuel out the overflow coming from the carbs. i think the problem is i only have one vacum pipe coming from the fuel tap which is the one from the manifold. can someone please tell me what the other pipe should connect to. cheers.

Re: nc24 fueling
It shouldnt.
You have on the fuel tap
1) Main fuel hose.. this is bigger than the other one so it can't go in the wrong place.
2) Vaccum hose. this is a smaller pipe that runs from half way up the rear left cylinder to the tap.
3) empty spiggot, this is to allow air in so that the diaphram moves.
If your carbs are pissing fuel it sounds like your float needle valves are shot. These seal the flow of petrol when they go up.
The other thing that can happen is the floats get stuck, so they dont' go up and seal.
Hopefully this is the case.. tap the float bowls with the handle of a screwdriver and see if the fuel stops overflowing.
If it doesn't you'll need to get the carbs apart and see if they are sealing.
70% of sticking float (tapping the bowls will cure it)
30% chance float needle vales are shot (expensive to replace)

Re: nc24 fueling
gave it a tap with the screw driver, problem solved. spent a few hours on it then it started to happen again so ill take the carbs off next week an have a poke around in there. think it is just sticking though otherwise it wouldnt of stopped happening for a while, right?? carbs could probably do with a clean an a bit of a tune anyway an i found your guide on the jet measurements so ill check that too. once again cheers for the help you seem like a handy guy to know.

Re: nc24 fueling
No worries, Looks like you have a sticking float.
This could be caused by crap in the carbs.
Get em off and give them a clean. Shouldn't take too long. :-)
