RC30 17" rear wheel on Ebay: Will it fit an NC30?
Anyone know if an RC30 wheel will fit an NC30 with minor mods?
There are 17" aftermarket wheels on ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Honda-VFR750-RC30 ... 335f355d19
5.5" wide so some spacers would be needed but just looking at the diagrams on CMS the RC30/NC30wheel centres look different. NC30 has the 4 T shaped slots and 4 holes for the drive pins. Looks like the RC30 has 16 holes. Does the RC30 use 16 drive pins?
I know RO does the 4 stud VFR750 conversion but I prefer the look of the singe stud.
Cheers,

I got a set of RC30 fitment PVM's on a NC35, just needed differnt bolts to mount the rear disc. One thing i have noticed with the rear wheel is that it can be put on the hub wrong due to the locating pins but its pretty obvious so its not really a problem. 180 section tyre is possible if you really want to
Looking at that pic tho your gunna need a different hub nut. ABRmoto has one on his 35 i think for the rc30 fitment pvm's he has

Thanks DM,
I was thinking the RC30 must have machine bolts or some such to hold the disc on.
Did you need to put any spacers in or a norrower chain?
Cheers,

No spacers needed unless you want the 180 tyre. I run a 160 rear and always used 520 sized chains with no problems.

Isn't 160 a bit norrow for a 5.5" rim DM? My tyre equivalency chart thing says 165 as a min for a 5.5" rim and ideal is 175 to 185.
Reading through a few tyre to rim recommendations it's telling me I can fit a 170/60ZR17 to a 4.5" rim and that I'd only really need a bigger rim if I go to a 180 tyre.
Might be easier and cheaper to just stick with a NC35 rim.
Hmmm.

Are you doing this just for tyre choice?
Get an NC35 Rim.
In theory:
140/70*17 3.50/4.00/4.50
150/60*17
150/70*17
160/60*17 4.00/4.50/5.00
160/70*17
170/60*17 4.00/4.50/5.00/5.50
*However:
Check with the tyre manufacturers, different makers certify tyres to different sized rims. While they may all fit, if it's been certified by the mfg you at least know they've tested it and approve it.

Yes it would as theres no need to go above a 160 section tyre on a NC.Mananon wrote: Might be easier and cheaper to just stick with a NC35 rim.
Hmmm.
Only reason i brought the PVM's was for weight loss plus they look dam good. I got a 160 supercorsa on mine and had no issues fitting it

Hi Neo,
On doing a bit of research I'd noticed that the manufacturers aren't all in agreement on this.
Can't beat 160 for pure choice though there are some good supersport tyres in 170. More than I expected to be honest.
Seems like a lot of work to get a 180 so I'll take you're advice and go with the RVF rim.
Cheers,

Yep,
I'm currently loving Conti Road / Race Attak's in 160/60/17 & 120/60/17

RVF it is then. If I can find one. Parts in NZ are very hard to find. Should be able to get one out of Aussie though.
I've a feeling it'll take me a while to find a decent shock at the right money so no rush.
Thank for you're help guys.
