NC24 R/R SWAP FOR YAMAHA R6 R/R
Alright guys not been on for a while as just been enjoying the bike and good weather. I dont have a problem with my regulator/rectifier yet but thought I would do the swap for the R6 one anyway. So I went on ebay and bought one that said it was the 2003 - 2005, five pin R/R. But now I have it, it has six pins!!. Can I still use this one or cant I????????????????. Pleas let me know as I only have the wiring for the five pin so do not have a clue what the other pin is for so hope some of you can help.

Send it back? If it's not the same as the description...
Not sure what the extra pins is for, usually for lighting current..
There might be a wiring diagram on the net

I once got sold exactly the same but the seller admitted (in the end) that he copied and pasted the description from another seller that was selling a 5 pin rectifier.
Cut a long story short 'item is not as described' if he stars to be funny with you about returning it, but it could be a genuine mistake

Can this one be used as it must be the same as the others but with an extra pin like you said for the head lights. Cause if I can use it then it saves a lot of hassle. I will look for a picture for the 6 pin. But for the Yamaha R/R to fit the NC24 the three bottom pins are for the yellow wires then the top left and right are the + and - wires?. If I cant find anything out then I will send it back cheers

Yep.
Thing is it might not output the correct voltage with the headlights on if you dont have the headlight switch wired up

Re: NC24 R/R SWAP FOR YAMAHA R6 R/R
Been all over the net and cant find a wiring diagram for the R6 6pin R/R. Loads of the 5 pin all I found is a guy saying not to use the 6 pin so I wont will get the 2003 - 2005 one. But just to be clear when the pin connector on the R/R is facing you the three pins on the bottom are the yellow wires and the top left is the negative and the top right is the positive!?!?!?. Just to be sure.
Also does anyone know the best way to connect the wires to this R/R?
Can I just solder them on or go and buy some spade connectors or buy the proper yamaha connector??????????????
Any info from someone who has done this will be very grateful, Thanks for everything guys x

I use insulated spades, they MUST be soldered though.
Bottom 3 are yellows, top right and top left i'll have to check.. if you get the the wrong way around you'll blow the main fuse :)

12v - Earth
ph1, ph2, ph3
so on the 24 it'll be
Red - Green
Yel1 Yel2 Yel3
You'll have two red wires and two green wires, join them together
