they cant be mate, as the carrier i got from an nc29 means the sprocket would sit further from the axle than the nc23, and it looks completely different. i have seen photos of nc29 sprockets and this one is not the same.
they seem to look the same as the nc23 but theis is different, the sprocket wou;ld also be more of a ring than a dish for the sprocket.

ALL Gullarm rear wheel assemblies are the same throughout the years from the very first in 1990 to the very last in 1998 they all have the same wheels sprocket carriers disc's spacers and axle if what you have doesn't fit then its not off an NC29 Gullarm it may be off a CBR 600 FM as they look similar but are slightly different

cheers for all the help you lot.
i think i got confused with some of the pictures of peoples bikes where it looked like they had a nc29 rear wheel with a nc23 carrier.

just need a 150/60 tyre, and the disc bolts  (why cant people include them if they scrap bikes) and the wheel will be sorted!

ahhh,i may have the answer for u...
a NSR250 MC21 rear wheel is a 17x4.5, is a 6 spoke like a nc29
but uses the same carrier spacers and rear disc as the 23.
quite a few rear sprocket choices ta boot
hope that helps

Hey Stimpy
Hahahaha yip , i just got bitten buy that trap.
Got a wheel for the new 400/600 and it was a totally diff carrier so i just made new spacers for the axle but i also had to machine the carrier so the sprocket came into line with the chain lol. Ahh well , more time in the garage is always good , thankfully i have the gear to do it aye.
The wheel i already had must have been off an early NSR like you say as the carrier is identical to the NC23 was.
I cant get the gearing rite yet but im having a test day this Friday to sort it out, 15 th front , 42 rear and 45 rear to try. I am picking a 15 front and 44 will be about rite for N.Z goat tracks.
Paul.

heyyy paul, long time no speak mate
hows it going over there...are you still supporting the young lady rider??
what ive found is 14/42 for our short tracks...which are proberly longer than the nz goat tracks
15/39(depending on wind direction...maybe 15/40) at the island...15/42 at eastern creek for the highspeed stuff
seems to work well for the 23's with 17's
hope your well
