I’ve recently bought a 1999 RVF400. The problem that I have is that the rear suspension is far too low! It’s been fitted with a brand new Hagon shock absorber- there’s a number stamped on the lower clevis- “609”. This may be a shorter than standard shock- possibly to reduce ride height- for a not so tall rider! In order to get it to standard ride height (this figure I’ve deduced from a scale photo of a standard bike), I’ve had to add the maximum amount of shims to the top shock mount, just leaving enough for a full lock-nut!!
Can anyone tell me if there’s a different set of dog bones that can be fitted to the linkage? The spacing of the holes on the one’s I have now is about 110mm. Are the NC30 one’s shorter? I don’t want to drill different holes in the one’s I have now.
Thanks,
Ian

Re: RVF400 Rear Ride Height!
Welcome..
RVF dog bones are shorter than VFR ones as they raise the ride height to accomodate the 17 inch rear.,
Cheap option is to run an 18 inch rear wheel...cheap as chips, looks cooler and gives you another 17mm rideheight..
IIRC the RVF holes are 108mm apart and VFR 113.
So, you might have a custom linkage.

Thanks for the offer. I’ve already got some spacers that fit the top shock mount, but I’ve had to use the full amount of adjustment- just leaving enough for a full lock-nut!!
