Bike Not run for 18 months, Help !!!

Post by Bman2 » Thu Apr 08, 2010 11:39 am

Hey

Got a NC30 Ex track bike last month, got round to getting it back to life this week, fitted a new battery, have all lights on dash, etc but no start.

replaced the fuel in the tank, but all she does is cough, but still no start.

its been stood for 18 months, and nothing has been done since.
im going to change the oil, replace tyres, chain, etc but want to get her running first..

its definately getting fuel, the tap is set to on, and she is turning over, but wont pick up
im going to change the plugs this weekend, but does anyone have any other ideas on something i may miss ?

thanks in advance !

Replacing the plugs would be a good start, they can be wrecked easily if they get flooded.

Start it using full choke and no throttle until you get used to it.

yep as cammo says, new plugs, full choke, DO NOT TOUCH THE THROTTLE and short stabs on the starter for 5 seconds or so until she catches.
