Hey guys, any tips, hints or advice on removing the rear sprocket from the carrier on an NC23. So far Ive used and 2 3/8'' ratchets and an alarming amount of skin from my knuckles.
Ratchets are broken and so is my spirit lol
Not one of the bolts have moved even slightly.
Cheers in advance, Jac.

Took me and two mates to do this..
Get it back in the wheel and on to the swing arm if you can.. and then spray some wd40 on the nuts leave over night and have some spinach for breakfast!
My knuckles looked bad after taking mine off...

I wouldn't use a ratchet on anything which is going to require a lot of torque.... all that pressure and when they break knuckles end up being smashed against something much more solid

Can you get hold of a 1/2" socket for example and solid bar setup? If something does break its always the bolts when using that technique from past experiences or stories
Would definitely put it back into the bike and WD40 like W00dzy suggested.
What about an air gun and compressor? Soon rattle them off but not exactly cheap to just go out and buy if you dont know someone with one!

Get it off and softjawed in a vice... allen socket on a 36" breaker bar got mine off - the threadlock they use is GOOD stuff! :)

got a spare sprocket carrier and bolts if you want them, assuming standard nc23

Tip: cut a length off an old 8mm allen key (angle grinder with a 1mm thick stainless cutting disc) and fit it into an 8mm socket for a free 8mm allen socket... worked for me!

Put the rear sprocket - hub carrier assembly is a soft jawed vice - we then use a Snap On half inch drive windy gun with stubby Allen socket designed for impact use.
Sometimes fails - then its the 2ft bar time.
They can be a real pain ...veefer400s tip is a good one - you don't want flex.
Hope that helps
Graeme

Cheers for the tips guys, much appreciated. I was a bit worried about using the ratchet at first, strange how the first thought was correct, second time (looking like rambo covered in blood and oil) I was a bit too pissed off.
Ive talked a couple of my strongest mates into coming round, failing that off to local garage to borrow airgun.
Cheers for the help guys.

Cheers for all the help guys, and cheers for the offer brooky.
Got new chain and sprox all fitted.
The winning tool for removing sprocket from hub was a large chap of around 18st + 3 cups of tea + 2' of pipe and an 8mm allen key.
Cheers all, thanks Jac.
