Question about Forks

The garage has said the fork seals on my NC24 need to be replaced. I don't want to do this myself as I think it would just end in tears.
There is a guy a couple of miles away breaking an NC24 and has the forks remaining. He said they are in good condition and seals are are fine. I can have them for £15.
So, rather than spend £100+ to have my seals replaced, should I buy 2nd hand forks instead?
How should I check the condition of the forks? bearing in mind they will not be attached to the bike or a wheel.
Cheers!!

Fit new seals to your existing forks and buy the other forks for spares at that price...

Ask a nearby forum member for help, 100 quid is too much.

Forks are easy - bite the bullet and learn it. Once done, you'll see why people are taking the piss about £100+ for fork seals!!

Buy some cheap seals and swap them out. Buy them other forks anyway for £15 -bargain.

+1 - they are really not that bad to do. Not sure if the NC30 springs are the same but if they are, you could also get a set of those from Rick Oliver and upgrade your front suspension at the same time for less than the £100. Top upgrade too
