float bowls leaking with fuel pump, help needed
got a problem with my fuel pump, iv rebuild the carbs with new seals on the float bowl but when I connected it all up the and turned it on the fuel pump started pumping started to slow down but then 3 of the 4 float bowls started pissing out fuel, anyone had this problem before?

Sounds like worn float needles.

hmm that could be a fair shout actually, I replaced one of them mabe thats the one thats no leaking, I checked them and they none were seized so i assumed they were fine, il order some new ones from rick tomorrow and see if that sorts it

Over tightened drain screws that have cracked the bowls?

Check that the pump isnt supplying too much pressure you only need a couple of psi ( upto maybe 5), any more than that and the needle valves wont seal.

I dont thing iv overtightened the drain screws, the fuel seems to be coming out the sides of the bowl cover
the pump is from a zxr400 aparently and I was told it was the correct one for ram air, not 100% sure it was ever tested tho, im gona replace the float needles and see what happens.
no-ones got any in hampshire have they I could buy and pick up today?
