Hi im building a race wiring loom for my ss400 bike and hence it needs to retain a gennerator and charging system.
my question is the red and white wire that goes from the main fuse on the starter relay to the regulator, does this need to be over 30amp rating? as the fuse is a 30 amp and also the other wire on the end of that fuse (red on original wiring diagram, black on mine as its going to the start/stop switch) does this also need to be over 30 amp rating?
all other wires I am using 16.5 amp rating thinwall wires as the only other fuses in the system are the ones for the clocks and idiot lights (10 amp) and the horn (10 amp).
Is their anywere else that needs a larger than 16.5 amp rating wire?

Re: Wire ratings
When i did mine i used the next size up from the 16.5 amp thinwall for those wires which IIRC is 32 ish amp. Also im pretty sure thats the only place i used the heavier gauge wire.

Re: Wire ratings
kl iv ordered some 32 of these aswell so thats all good
what about the yellow regulator wires? are they higher rating? also does that mean the black and white wire that comes from the switch that the black (or red on stock) wire connects to? this goes to the coils should this be higher rating too?

Re: Wire ratings
You'll be fine with standard gauge wire for the coils.
