Good vid! That looks so simple. So far I did not need to perform this clutch replacement, but it is handy to watch it and thanks for this leason.

I did 2 clutches recently and it is a simple job at the end of the day.

Good vid though, nice to have a look see if you have never seen the wonders of clutches!!

you said it. it does seem a little daunting just looking at the tiny pics in black and white from the haynes, so a bit of colour and commentary from a paddy goes a long way

NC24 is easier as it has not slipper clutch.

Remove clutch cover.

Remove 4 x shouldered bolts and springs.

Front comes off along with the plates and the steels.

The last plate is a spring washer, make sure it's in the right way.

EBC (from wemoto) do a heavy duty clutch spring set thats well worth a buy, i've had a couple of motors with weak springs.

Out of curiosity, can you add an extra spring to NC21/24 as per NC30 to stiffen it up a bit? I'm guessing not if they only use one spring?

the 24 has coil springs unlike the 30 with diaphragm springs, so to stiffen things up you'd have to replace all springs

is it possible to use NC30 slipper components in a NC24?
I have to be quite accurate rev-matching while gearing down before corners. Are slippers for lazy people? :)

The outer basket is the same on both bikes so I don't see why you couldn't transplant the middle out of the 30.

Although the NC30 clutch isn't like modern bike slipper clutches, unless you have componenets knocking around to do it I wouldn't bother.

Slipper clutch isn't substituion for good riding technique.

If it's becomming an issue maybe your riding too fast for the road?

They use 4 coil springs.. EBC do a heavy duty set for pennies that are stiff as a corpse. Great springs if you have a strong hand.. if not you'll get one using them.. clutch is strong enough to pull a caravan
