fuel pump

hi guys,,im new to this section of the fourm and just like to say hi to all the regulars here on this section:),,iv recently become an owner of a nc23 that the previous owners dog had chewed the fuse junction box and other doggy friendy bits on the bike wich i have now patched up for now

,,but my question is dose the fuel pump be constantly on making that clicking noise when the ignition is turned on or,,im only asking as im not familar with the bike or its workings but i have owned many bikes with fuel pumps and none of them made the same racket as this 1 dose,,im just unsure if this is normal or not for the cbr ,,,,all replys helpfull kevin

from memory..
When you turn the ignition on the fuel pump will activate and click a few times. It should then only pump when the engine is running. If it is pumping all the time you may have dodgy wiring into / around the fuel pump cut off relay.
Not much to do except sit down with the wiring diagram, volt meter, and the loom and get testing...

thanks for the reply greggo,,,anybody know the right direction to point me in to find a wiring diagram :)
