carb tools

in my rebuild i'm getting to the stage where i'm ready to tackle the carbs...

i believe special screwdrivers make my life easier.. what would you recommend and from where??

theirs a special screwdriver that makes balancing them alot easier I believe but not heard of one for the carbs themselfs, and didnt use one when I did mine

the balancing tool is a right angled screwdriver that turns the head when you twist the grip, make sence? also a colourtune or carb set of balancing guages will be needed

If you're removing them, then a longish philips head screwdriver is needed, no more. Don't forget to remove the idle adjustor, easy mistake when you go to rip the carbs off... :oops:

You should be able to see the carb rubber screws with a torch while the bike is all together, it should give you an idea of what size screwdriver you'll need.

I wouldn't suggest balancing the carbs while they're on the bike, there's easier ways and you'll get damn close results for a quarter of the time spent.

A sledge hammer or large pair of boots for when you come to re-fitting the carbs :shock:

a paperthin smear of red rubber grease around the rubbers helps the carbs to slide on easy
