Will a NC30 engine fit into a NC35 bike?

Post by scoops »

Hi

I have my engine of my RVF away for rebuild. In the mean time I have an offer of a loan of a VFR engine to get me out for a race.
Will the VFR engine fit the RVF bike? And will the twin mercury exhaust system fit aswell does anyone know?

Thanks

Hi Scoops ;)

Yeah NC30 motor will go straight in, may need longer bolts on bottom engine mount and a nut on back, cant remember if its RVF in NC30 or other way round you need to do this.
Mercury System will bolts straight on as well.
Only problem will be the pic ups on the end of the crank, you will need to fit RVF pic ups, RVF is a single pulse, NC30 is a twin pulse, without change she will not fire.

You trying to get out for weekend?

The other option is to fit an nc30 wiring loom and cdi to the nc30 engine, this could be the quicker option depending on how easily you can get the parts.
