Stock Dyno Run - Results to follow

Post by alexwitham » Tue Jul 21, 2009 3:21 pm

I have my Stock NC30 booked in for a dyno run on the 1st of August at Seastar Superbikes on the outskirts of Norwich.
The only reason for this run is basically to see how the engine has aged, what the RWBHP is, and if its fuelling correctly.

Prior to this, im lucky enough to steal a few hours of Rick Olivers weekend to get the carbs sync'd and a shim check/change to make sure its running as mother Honda intended it too.

Other than this, would there be any other checks/changes i should do before it gets a 20 minute thrashing

I have changed the oil and filter 500 miles ago, chain and sprockets 4000 miles ago, air filter was removed/cleaned 500 miles ago, sparks plugs are being cleaned/changed when Rick has the bike as the top rad has is being removed allowing easy access to the front cylinders (why Honda put the front sparkies in such a **** of a position i dont know). Anything else i should do?

The guy on the phone said 'make sure your tyre pressures are accurate'...is he being serious? lol

This is my first ever dyno run so im new to this shizz :blowout:

Yes make sure the tyre pressures are correct, as you will get dodgy reading if under pressure, also make sure there is enough fuel in it and even take spare fuel.

Shall i fill the tank up to the brim or will it weigh the bike down?

Fill the bike up as the weight is not an issue as the bike is straped down heavily so the rear wheel dosnt move off the drum.

I take it chain tension is a thing i need to check prior to the run?
