new to the forum,
I have a 1992 VFR400 race bike....
I have only had it out on the track a couple time...
the first time it revved fine in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear...i would shift into 4th and no revving past 9k...
then i got it going fine for about 20 min...then it started doing the same thing no reving past 9k in 4th gear...
now it wont rev. past 9k in any gear...runs up to 9 and boggs....
any help....?

G'day mate, welcome!
A bit more info about the bike should help to get it sorted.
It typically sounds fuelling related, probably too lean. Take the tank off and check what sort of filter and airbox setup it has. I've seen a few bikes that have your symptoms because the previous owner has taken out the filter or cut up the airbox etc and expected it to run properly. And then sold it because they couldn't fix it...
There's a parts fische here you can use to check that you have all the right airbox parts in there:

thanx mate,
yeah no filter at all...and no seal for the airbox....
I thought it felt lean....but wasn't sure...I will be ordering up a new airfilter...
and sealing the air box....

Yeah let us know how you get on, you never know what the previous owner was up to until you check for yourself!

bane of my life on my VFR, getting her fixed..(slowly) as new parts and seals arrive. cant sell her tho. i love her more than my lass. she never moans, and enjoys a good thrashing from time to time, which if i done with my GF would probably be endorsed with a nice jail term...stupid world ey? bring back the medieval ages!It typically sounds fuelling related
