hi guys,
im buying an NC30 off a mate friday, hes had it for 1 1/2 years no trouble but now it has lol!
basically when the temp get high, over norm it starts stuttering and running bad. it did not do this last summer at all even when the fan cut in but if you sit in traffic and then it gets hot it just doesnt wanna pick up.

the only difference to the bike is that now it has a derestriction box off ebay fitted, all other settings are the same as last summer! it was fitted 3 months ago and the bike ran fine till the hot hot days came then now if it gets too hot it plays up! th eunit advances the ignition and now all i can think is that it goes to far when hot? bikes ok in higher revs just not low down.

When running at norm temp with this box fitted the bikes great pulls better than standard, even seems to have a sort of powerband from 8k!

any help would be appreciated, its a very clean bike and i dont wanna miss out for a simple fix

cheers dave

Mate something's up if the derestrictor makes any difference to the performance. All it does is remove the 180km/h speed restriction so something's not right there.

I'm sure the hot temp troubles will be a simple fix, first thing to look at would be the fuel tap vacuum hose and perhaps other fuel lines. When these get very hot they become more pliable and can collapse at old age. You'll need to take the tank and possibly the carbs off to check this fully.

It can be nothing but a simple fix if it rides well at other times, and will most likely be fuel supply related. It would also be worthwhile checking the reg/rec because they can throw up a heap of symptoms and are a weak point on nc30's. The haynes manual has all the pointers for this.

It might take a bit of stuffing around to set right but then it will be good times.
