according to PS magazine guide.....
89-90 VFR400 NC30
EBC Front: FA187HH
EBC Rear: FA143

91-Onwards VFR400 NC30
EBC Front: F A187HH
EBC Rear: FA143
There is a gap between the codes for the front between the F and the A.. not sure what this means :?

89-90 VFR400 NC30
Ferodo Front: FDB533
Ferodo Rear: FDB496

91-onwards VFR400 NC30
Ferodo Front: FDB533
Ferodo Rear: FDB496

The guide also shows only one C&S size for the VFR400 NC30
108 link
15/40

hope this helps

all brakes, chain and sprockets etc are the same on all the models of NC30.

easy..

15/40 with 525 pitch and 104 links is standard.

If you still have the 15T front sprocket on then a 38T rear will make it sluggish as hell and definatly not recomended, 15/38 is standard RVF gearing.

525 pitch is the weight of your chain, 520 is prefered by some.

alright monkey, cool.
i havent checked the front so cant be sure, i know the rear is 38 though.....is the standard 15/40 the most common used or is it law to change this for the nc30?? what have you lads used and recomend ?? iv heard the 1st gear on the nc30 is silly tall, would a change in gearing do any positive changes to this or should i just go for standard? cheers

1st gear is tall on the 30 but i like it, its much better than the 35. As for gearing it depend what you use it for, i found standard 15/40 gearing perfect for road riding, it redlined in 6th with ease so no need to drop the gearing but some recomend 15/42 for the road. If you take it on track the cheapest option is to just loose 1 tooth on the front which = roughly +3 on the rear.

Its basically finished mate i just need to paint it. I didnt strip it completely as its already pretty good. Engines been rebuilt, Forks rebuilt, PV setup etc, brackets etc painted. Runs nice and is very clean, ive got all the decals for the MK2 lawson rep right down to the carbon trim.

And its for sale if your interested, either as it is or finished painted etc. Also have a Arrow pipe for it.
