I'm pretty sure the original 'Blade had the same M/C as the NC35.
Conventional wisdom says to know your limits. To know your limits you need to find them first. Finding your limits generally involves getting in over your head and hoping you live long enough to benefit from the experience. That's the fun part.

NC35 was a 14mm
speedy231278 wrote:Would be interesting to know what size it is, everything I've found so far for the Blade says 14mm (9/16) for 1992-1997. Wouldn't be the first time the aftermarket people got something wrong.....
they started fitting 14mm M/C after the initial run of 1992 models

used on the RC30 and early model Fireblades."

I have a 5/8ths blade m/c on my bike and it looks identical to the original 14mm that was there. My brakes are bob on.

Saying that, I have not ridden the old beast for some time and need to get out this weekend for a razz if I can

Ah, so it's like the very early NC30s where according to Mike Lohmeyer's page, the first particular number off the line had slightly different clutch plates to the rest of the same year? No wonder people get confused!

Think I paid £74 for mine, but they came with Goodridge hoses and a MC (albeit stock NC35 one). I've seen them fetch over a ton a pair, and go for a tenner each individually. Supply and demand.... Currently, the cheapest on eBay is £50 a side. Cheap stuff comes to those who wait...
