I'm having carb fitting hassles now as well. Last few times were fine and went on easily, however this time, I too have fitted new rubbers and they are being a real pain! The with the fronts seated, the rears are now only about 5mm out and I just can't seem to get them on!
The only other difference is I now have a HRC carb tray fitted, so visibility is somewhat obscured especially at the front.
Going to have another go at lunch today and warm up the rubbers as it is freezing here which I don't think is helping the cause!

Aaaaaand they're on! Phew, that was a really PITA. I swear it must be the cold or something because that was tough going by previous occasions
