Re: How to: fit a BMW s1000rr rear shock to a VFR 400 nc30
Any info on how high it will jack a standard 30 up by? Is it anything close to the nc30 jack up kit that RO sells at around 30-35mm?
What are the thoughts/general consensus on using one of these on a heavier rider, I'm 16 and a half stone?
Cheers
Luke

What is the correct spring spec for a 13 stone rider(without gear) on the nc30 for this shock, ID:2.25'', L:7'', 800 or 825lbs?
Do you know a place to order cheap springs from Germany or the neighboring countries?

Hi guys,
Will this work with a 35? Do I need to cut or file anything?
Thanks!

I'm jumping on this bandwagon.
Current shock is FUBAR'd so just shelled out on a nice looking S1000RR shock. Where are you people buying your springs from? I'm 11.5 stone without leathers and gear.
Are these ok to use with a heavier spring without revalving? It'll be better than my stock shock which collapses if someone sits on the back whatever the weather, so it'll be going on my bike regardless.
Think I'll file down the shock itself though, rather than the frame mounts, to retain originality.

Oh and not that I'm overly bothered, but out of interest, say I swapped to an 800lb spring, would I be able to carry a pillion of equal weight?

Fair enough, well as I said anything will beat the current sponge I have as a shock!
