Not really any more, a couple of track days a year is all.Neosophist wrote:How many people who have fitted this shock actually use it fully, like on a race-track?
Cammo, you ride your bikes on the track right? Id be interested to see your feedback on how one of these shocks perform on a racetrack.
I agree.Drunkn Munky wrote:The reason these shocks dont perform that well for everyone thats fitted them is they have no damping control due to the much heavier spring fitted in order for it to work on the NC. The stock BMW shock isnt a bad shock but its well known the damping control is pretty poor, whack a much heavier spring on there and the damping then becomes non existant.
I guess it comes down to cost and what sort of performance is needed.

OK, so shock and link are in. Attached are photos of my issue with the exhaust impacting on the swing arm.
Even with me sitting on the bike the exhaust still touches the swing arm but doesn't restrict the swing arm moving down to its rest position (looks like the exhaust doest pass where the scallop is taken out of the swing arm for the exhaust to sit). I've also measured minimal sag with this spring / link combo - might need to get a lighter spring (i'm 65kg) and then the exhaust clearance issue may disappear?
Anyone know what type of exhaust this is?
The bike feels really jacked up with the tyga rear end and the shock/link, perhaps even too much but hard to tell without having a standard bike to compare the geometry with.....

Looks like a Yamamoto to me - large alloy plate to the rear stubby and very short outlet to link pipe.
I think anyone with a longer shock has a bit of interference betwixt system and linkages - Mine does it with RS250 shock and full Tyga system. I don't care.

I have no linkage clash issues, it's tight up against the swing arm. Just concerned it will cause issues when suspension is trying to move.CMSMJ1 wrote:Looks like a Yamamoto to me - large alloy plate to the rear stubby and very short outlet to link pipe.

The system maybe bent, you cant really get it wrong fitting it as its a 1 piece fixed half system.
That bike does look rather jacked up from those pics, when you say you've got the shock and link fitted i take it you mean you've got the HRC link? How long is the BMW shock eye to eye?

The tyga kit is also quite steep as standard

Should be fine, my shock is set to 310mm and with the stock tail unit looks fine.
