Ticking noise? Sounds more a grinding noise. Did you change the oil, when did the "noise" start? Cannot hear the classic cam gear whine there is so much other engine noise. The fidelity of the uploaded recordings I find makes analysis difficult. Where are you in Sydney?

Magg I'm in hornsby. I've up loaded another and deleted the old. Did it out in the open so may be better. If you google rvf ticking noise again it'll come up. I changed the oil yesterday and it is some what better but the oil wasnt even 4000 kms old. Although I like to change at 3 with a filter I got a bit slack. Richard5 I will check that out and get back to you.

You did not say when the noise started. Plenty of oil? In case you do not know, dip stick should NOT be screwed into clutch cover to measure oil level, just rested on lip of the hole. Unfortunately I do not find your recording helps identify the noise issue.

Are you riding the bike at the moment, if you are willing to take a run up the Blue Mountains I could have a listen.

Mine did the same and it was because a weld at the exhaust header broke.

Magg sorry forgot about that, the noise start about 3 months ago, but has slowly gotten louder. I have a Haynes manual so oil was checked with dipstick unscrewed. If you are willing to that'd be great. I can ride up this weekend. Kristian I hope that that's all it is.
