Well, the OEM stator is 3 bolt vs the RVF 4 bolt, so that makes things slightly more difficult. If I have to get an aftermarket stator the the cost goes up and it starts making more sense to just get a stock RVF flywheel lightened. Not as light as the GSXR mod, but a lot cheaper.

You can always make an addapter for the stator.

ok so I did some research, thanks to a Japanese engineer here is some very comprehensive flywheel and generator info

That's pretty good. I wish he had the MC21 or MC28 for comparison. Unfortunately, I think the only way to truly see if this will work is to get an MC21 stator and flywheel and see it works. If it does, then you've got a ~925 gram setup that's a little over half what the RVF's setup weighs for sub $100. For anyone that's lightened up the stock RVF flywheel - I wonder how much lighter they got it?

ill try and get an MC21 stator the weekend and measure up for you

The OEM MC21 stator is a 3-bolt stator, so OEM won't bolt up, which makes this potential mod a lot more expensive. If you have to buy an aftermarket Electrex stator on top of sourcing an MC21 flywheel then the cost pretty much doubles. Still a lot cheaper than the Rick O + GSXR route, but no longer a bargain mod. I think the cheapest/easiest thing to do is to find a person to lighten your flywheel. Plenty of people over here do it, but just not sure it's going to be enough to warrant having it done. If anyone has experience with a lightened flywheel then that would be appreciated.

i had lightened flywheel on nc30 and it was awesome mod, engine felt much more free.

and jsut becuase the mc21 stator is 3 bolts doesnt mean the nc30 stator wont fit inside the rotor.

electrexworld stator says it fits both nsr and vfr so the diamater of the windigs must be the same right?

this weekend i should have access to both vfr and nsr flywheels so will see what fits on what
