Re: NC23 Aero won't spark
Yeah, but the old battery was dead..
So I'm using a car battery to fire it up, since I don't want to ruin the new battery by constantly trying to fire the engine.

You will need an oscilloscope to test the cdi pulse a multimeter won't pick it up.Celis93 wrote:EDIT* Nvm, I didn't measured correct..![]()
Coils are fine, primary is just 0,1 ohms out of range.
In my opinion, this doesn't explain why the bike doesn't spark.
Is it possible to check the pulse generator with a multimeter?
I've measured the resistance, and it matches the specifications.
Is it possible to use a multimeter and measure power fluctuations?
Same story to check the CDI for giving pulses to the coils?
Hopefully you guys know what I mean, since my English isn't great.
Have you checked and cleaned all of the earth connections including the wiring loom plugs?
Try linking out or disconnecting all of the cut out switches depending on weather they are normally open or normally closed.
Assuming your cdi isn't damaged it sounds something like a safety circuit is stoping the cdi sending a pulse to the coils.

Re: NC23 Aero won't spark
Yesterday it wouldn't turn over anymore..
So I checked al the wires and found out it was a faulty starter solenoid.
I checked it for continuity. It does click, but there is no continuity..
Since they look all the same, can I use any solenoid from honda motorcycles?
Thanks!

Re: NC23 Aero won't spark
Today I received the new starter solenoid, the engine is turning over again!
I bypassed the clutch switch, but still only one spark when releasing the starter button..
Pick-up and coils are good.
I will do one last check with a multimeter, and if I can't find the problem I will buy a new CDI.

Are these any good, or should I stay away from these?
Any tips or ideas are welcome!

Re: NC23 Aero won't spark
I have checked all switches, they're all good.
CDI is getting power, and has a good ground.
I am measuring power fluctuations from the pulse generator coils when cranking.
But I am also measuring some fluctuations from the CDI..
I've measured it with a multimeter, so I don't know how reliable these results are?
So I am not quite sure what to think..
At this point, I really don't know what to do!
Should I take the gamble and buy a new CDI unit?

Re: NC23 Aero won't spark
You will pick up small fluctuations from the cdi/pick up, the multimeter can't sample fast enough to read these pulses correctly.
Have you checked all of the earth points?
Try cleaning the kill switch with proper switch cleaner as if it's had wd40 sprayed in it it can short out. (The tiny copper particles worn from the contacts float in the thin oil and current can track across)
I had this on my LC and it took me ages to find that!

Re: NC23 Aero won't spark
Checked the earth connection of the CDI, which was good.
Earth of the coils is good.
Kill-switch is working properly.
I checked all wiring and I haven't found any bad wiring.
The only thing I can think off is the CDI, or am I missing something?

Did you check inside the switches or just test the plug?
