Don't put the nuts on the studs before you've put the pipes on....

Ahem... should just go back on the opposite way round to the order it came off. Refitting is the reverse of removal, as Haynes would say.

i believe the Haynes book of lies says "Refitting is simply the reverse of removal" lying bar stewards.

The exhaust is pretty simple to be fair. Just loosley assemble evrything so you can still jiggle it around a bit and once all lined up - tighten it up.

Glad to hear that you are sorted Mollers. I removed my exhaust today, mainly good, but some not so...

HAd issue up front with a non-std bolt (could be prev bodge?) which came out easy enough but dragged out some ali, concerned about damage to cyl head, not completely stripped but def weakened. Another stud & nut came out together but v cleanly (will replace it with new), rest of nuts pretty newish & came off as they should.

Any advice on what to do when fitting these 2 new studs please, i.e. the normal practice for one & what special treatment recommended for the weakened thread? (worst case would be helicoil, but hope its not that bad). Cheers, BB
