Sorry, I thought they were o-rings like on the RVF. Why don't you just get the right parts to do the job? OK, they're £1.90 plus VAT each, but you know they will fit properly, and that they won't dissolve straight away!

Is there a danger of them dissolving? I didn't think fuel touched those little tubes

Theres a lot of fuel vapour around that area, and its hot and oily, you might get some blowback too. Cheap stuff might rot away.

I used 10mm ID for the ones to the sub air cleaner and the short tubes between the carbs. Seems to work well, time will tell I guess.makz2008 wrote:what is the diameter/size of the silicone hose you are going to use? i think it would be a good idea to replace them hoses aswell

It certainly isn't any hotter or oilier than around the blowoff valve on the Passat, so I'm not too worried about that. You're right that silicone hose isn't approved for fuel, though. Time will tell, I guess. Besides, $5/ft isn't exactly cheap.Neosophist wrote:Theres a lot of fuel vapour around that area, and its hot and oily, you might get some blowback too. I got the silicone hose and have re-assembled the carbs. It looks promising.JC120 wrote:That would be great!lutorm wrote: They have a minimum order of like 5ft. I'll give it a try and if it works out I can send you a foot.
