Yeah, pics would show what I mean better but pushed for time at the mo.
The swingarm pivot bolt threads stick out past the l/h frame rail by about 5mm, the r/h side head of the bolt seems screwed in too far & the castelated locknut has a couple of visible threads.
I'm thinking the swingarm has no or the incorrect spacer in the lhs. My old bike wasn't like this. Don't have time to strip down at the moment.....

Will post pics when I get a chance, the bike looks too genuine to be a bitsa but they are over 20 years old, this one has had the same careful owner for the last 14!

Thanx, Pip

Ok update,
I have the swingarm stripped out & guess what???
Some feckin' muppet has left the central spacer out.....

I have looked in Haynes (not very clear) & on Lings fiches which shows a spacer that fits, presumably, to the inside of the pair of bearings on the rhs & touches the inner of the collar that fits in the lhs needle bearing?.
The bearings seem ok however.
No wonder it looked out of alignment.....

Help, anyone have said spacer in the North Cheshire available ASAP!

Oh the joys of older, used bikes.....

Pip
