all have been check about 4 times now and completely stripped down, i did check the rubbers which are also good also i have spray carb cleaner around all the carbs while running, and the idle did not changed at all so i am considering they are all tight and no air leaks, float height are within spec also and are seating nicely.CRM wrote:Riccodan wrote:CRM wrote: And as for the original question. are you sure its not an air leak from the carb rubbers ? or incorrectly assembled carbs / float heights ?

If the low RPM is eratic then another thing to check is the slide rubbers in the carb tops too. any splits or leaks in there will cause issues.
also the blanking nipples for the vacuum are sealed up yes ?

thanks for the reply it is not a low rpm problem and it does not hunt, it idles to high that the issue it wont go low what so ever, on a decent normal sounding idle it will have to idle at 2k rpm and the lowest i can turn it down to is 1600, but then it sound like it wants to cut out and stall.CRM wrote:If the low RPM is eratic then another thing to check is the slide rubbers in the carb tops too. any splits or leaks in there will cause issues.

vacuum nipples have good rubbers on then with no splits and a nice tight seal, i also applied some instant gasket just in case i missed something

hi yes some probs like this are a twot to fix im time served it took me 6 months fix the carb fault on the trident what it was at the end of the day was a combiation of small faults makin one big one, basicly carbs worn parts , electrics coils and pick up and some bad earths producing bad sparks once every sub system was done it evently cured it , would advise do not go at it for 2 long as u will not be able 2 see the wood for the trees so to speak, possibly get yer wiring diagram photcopyed in full colour and made larger that can help as small a4 can be very confusing to read.also a mate with some tek knowledge can be helpful to bounce ideas off reg.craig
