Re: Urgent Help Needed
What about teeth on the front sprocket?

Re: Urgent Help Needed
Is there a good chance its the gearing? There is a rounded bolt head on the front sprocket cover so wasn't too keen to get stuck in. I know it seems a bit lazy but I have had 100 problems already and was supposed to be done by now.

Re: Urgent Help Needed
I live in South Africa, I have spent the last few months fixing the bike. It had be de-registered from the South African traffic department and I am in the process of re-registering it. The first step is to get Police Clearance which requires riding the bike. In order to drive an unregistered vehicle you need a special permit. The next step is Roadworthy (Your MOV equivalent) this will require another permit thereafter I will be able to license and register.

The sp unit does not increase the rev limit.xivlia wrote:i have the ss/sp unit and my bike limits at 15.5k rpm
I think you'll find that 15.5k rpm on the tacho is actually closer to 14.5k rpm, it's out by a decent amount.

Just quoted myself on the relevant stuff so you dont have to read the whole thread.RegionX wrote:Yes reading the speed off the new clocks, measured the circumference of the tyre, fairly sure its accurate definitely wasnt hitting 160km/h like i should. It also gave me max rpm at 10600, not sure what gear I was in but in 6th it just wouldn't go any faster, flat out. Not sure how high red lining is but I wasnt trying to rev high in every gear.
Couldnt find a stamp, counted 40 teeth.
Not sure what other info to provide.
thanks for the help so far
It turns out that max rpm in 6th is only around 8000. It is very weird, most of the time I rev up to about 8k as stated which takes me to around 130km/h then it sounds like it is topping out or restricted or something, almost sounds very rich, anyway point is it makes a different noise and wont go any faster.
Other times, and I think it is when I sit at 110km/h or so before increasing speed, it will slow around 130 then go past to around 140 but havnt been able to push it further.
Unfortunately it is very hard to describe and I would call it a flat spot but the fact is most of the time I can not get past it. For example in a 100km ride I got past 130km/h twice and not for lack of trying. My guess is incorrect jetting due to the aftermarket exhaust and as I mentioned before I still have stock jetting. So do I Dyno or what?
