It happens now and again. I've had the same several times in the past during or immediately following spells of really cold weather.
Conventional wisdom says to know your limits. To know your limits you need to find them first. Finding your limits generally involves getting in over your head and hoping you live long enough to benefit from the experience. That's the fun part.

Was that you outside Denmark Stores earlier? I was walking up Silver Road when I heard a V4, turned around and saw a black NC30 pulling away. Sounded very nice!
