Re: nc30 performance& handling???
Hi
Having spent many hours over winter in the garage working on my track bike after last weeks balst at Oulton the three stand out mods that really made a difference are:
Gearing 14/43.. the acceleration is as good as my 749
Tyres, Diablos are awesome even in the wet
and something not to everyones taste bit fitted a quick action throttle - might be a bit twitchy for some on the road but on the track it's essential.

Re: nc30 performance& handling???
Cheers for the replies all.
After buying the bike, I certainly ain't got money to burn.....
I certainly don't have 1/2 day spare at the mo, if I get chance, I may have a go sooner.
Cheers, Phil

Re: nc30 performance& handling???
Has anyone posted dyno results from before and after carb mods (showing fuelling ratio) on an otherwise stock bike. Had a quick search but couldn't find anything.
Had another run out today, definately a bit lame up to 6k (from about 4 1/2), worse when it's hot which, as mentioned, indicates lean. Also bike starts & runs wonderfully when cold but is a little more reluctant when warm (after being hot & stood a while) - a bit rich on the pilots???

Nice bike (in the best colours too
)
Do you have a dyno run with the stock jets?
I must admit, it looks to be running quite rich with the 120 jets & the aftermarket exhaust.

Re: nc30 performance& handling???
Unfortunately I don't have graphs with stock jets. Sorry.
Do you mean mine looks like it's running rich?

Yeah, fuel curve is spending a lot of time below 13:1 which means a bike that stinks to follow & wastes fuel, I bet your exhaust is sooty too!alexwitham wrote:Unfortunately I don't have graphs with stock jets. Sorry.

Best to keep between 13 & 14.5:1 - to the lower end of this for power & upper end of this for economy.

Re: nc30 performance& handling???
I'm now running modified induction on the same carb setting and it runs great. It used to pop and fart a touch before I done some fettling with the airbox/filter/snorkel etc.
It pulls very strong now.

Re: nc30 performance& handling???
UPDATE;
I had the carbs off, all stock (110) mains & 35 pilots allround, stock needles & a single .5mm washer under each. Pilot screws were between 2.1 & 2.6 turns out (two were 2.5/2.6 turns out). Emulsion tubes 2 were correct, 2 had been fitted in the wrong carbs......
Float heights - all were .5 to 1mm too high (smaller measurement).
With carbs set to correct stock standard, except the 115/117.5 mains from RO, the bike feels good - stronger at 9k+ not as boggy at 5-7 k rpm but still feels a bit feeble - again, more so when warm.
I'll leave it a while, might try & get to the dyno day on 16/7
