Re: NC30 Rear Shock Change, Help needed
Ended up bottling it lol. Got it done at the garage but he didnt have fun doing it at all, thought it was an easier job than it was till he figures out it was the V4 lol. I didnt have an auxillary stand, thinking of getting a stand that supports the bike from the holes in the frame like he used, but would have taken me ages so glad I did get someone else to do it.
Thanks for all the posts, but if you dont have the suitable stand, dont attempt it, it is possible with a car jack as one person person said but I wouldnt risk it as the bike can topple easy.
Thanks

This is why everyone should have an ABBA stand.

So iv had the earlier K Model I think rear shock fitted (one without external res) and when fitting noticed it was slightly smaller in height, should I increase the preload to compensate for the height difference? I think about 5mm smaller, currently running on mark 4 preload

Re: NC30 Rear Shock Change, Help needed
Thought I would pass on a thanks also as I followed the instruction at the start of this thread and removed my shock earlier this evening.
This was an impulse thing as I have decided to have it rebuilt over winter and didn’t obtain an ABBA stand so I suspended my bike from the garage roof using a cargo strap, looks a bike strange floating there but it does the job…
Forks are coming off tomorrow with luck
