Carb is seated as per Cammo's guide, airbox has the 4 internal screws and 7 allen bolts all done up. It does have the sub-filter missing (I'll be getting one off David Silver soon), but it was running ok before like that.thunderace wrote:Are you sure the carb and airbox are seated & sealed properly?

Pull out one of the rear plugs and see if it's wet.
If they're flooded it will never start.

Agree with cammo.. check the plugs for wetness.Man_Named_Dave wrote:Carb is seated as per Cammo's guide, airbox has the 4 internal screws and 7 allen bolts all done up. The screws arn't as important as the carbs being connected to the rubbers properly, an air-leak here can cause problems.

Re: NC30 starting problems
Ok, so the spark plugs were indeed suffering from a bit of flooding. After a scrub-up they look like this:

Do they look good enough to give it a go starting? Or does the brown mark (especially on the right-hand plug) indicate that these are knackered?

It's not very easy to tell the condition of the plugs in the pic, but they don't look crash hot for sure.
Once they've been flooded (it does sound like they have) they can't always be revived.
Try a new set methinks.

Re: NC30 starting problems
I flooded mine the other day and the only way to get it fired was let it stand for half hour and with a booster/starter pack fitted to give it that extra oomph

Re: NC30 starting problems
Cheers for the opinions guys,
Regardless, I think this will all be waiting until after Xmas now. Seeing as I need a better lower rad and at least £100 worth of stuff from Mr Silver, I'll leave the bike to hibernate until we get through the worst of the weather.
That way I can replace a load of stuff and get everything running smoothly!
