The ignition system isn't complex, there must be something wrong somewhere, have you got the wiring diagram? It's easy enough to trace

ignition switch is fine,, it's must be the pickups!!
used multi-meter on everything and all good but nothing when i test the pickups!?!?
two different ones been on the bike and still nothing there!?!?
any help would be great please!?!?!?

What / how are you testing them?
You need to measure resistance, 400-500 ohms on the pickup coils.
Silly question but are you earthing the plug (holding it against the engine) when your cranking the bike over?

multimeter, to be honest no sure what setting to put it on!!!but did try all setting on mine,, lost the booklet thou,,,
yeah when cranking i'm touching the plug against a nice shiny bolt on the engine!!
am i making a tit of myself and doing it all wrong!!!

Sounds about right, I put it on the rocker bolts of the cylinder head.. try that (also make sure the plug is in properly)
Put the meter on Ohms (resistance) if it's got a manual scale put it on 2000
Measure between the wires on the plug

Yep.
Firstly check the coils
Put the multimeter on Volts.. 20 if it's a manual meter.
Theres two wires to each coil, put the igntion on and measure between earth and each wire on the coils and see what you have...
