i was extremely close to buying one of these. the tcip4 model to be exact. what would be interesting if you run 4 over plug coils and increase the dwell time in the software, which appears to be easy to use. would be interesting to see the improvements especially at high rpm when the dwell time gets hammered. that and to tune the ignition timing on a dyno to output max power everywhere. gives you somewhere to start if it never crossed you mind

make sure you put up dyno results so we can all see its worth it over std, then just on sell the custom map you make to recover some costs

How are you goin guys, I was just going to give you guys the opportunity to ask any questions in relation to the Ignitech maps. I have been doing the data logging for the NC29 CDI and have just had a look at the standard unit for Rick on the test bech. Has any body got any feedback on the HRC curve and or particular issues. Are cold starts better or worse and if so what is your comp ratio. I just need a bit of feedback As I don't own an NC29. Feel free to ask any questions as I have alot of data on the ignitions to refer to on in my test logs. cheers.

P.S. This work on the NC29 is for Rick Oliver so any transactions are through him I am just providing him some LAB resources so as he can support his customers with extra data.

dyno time parus.
has anyone got the std ignition map and the hrc map. just want to know the difference between the 2 ignition units.
the manual says for the std unit:
at idle: 18 deg btdc
full advance: 32 deg btdc
has anyone got a more detailed map or atleast the hrc specs.

There is no Datalogging feature in the Ignitech units, However you can programme the map so changes can be made.
As for the HRC vs Std maps. The HRC map is radically different to the standard map. I have logged and hacked many CDI's and the difference between standard and HRC on this particular bike is unprecedented. cheers

So how come there is so little difference on the dyno between the two units when run back to back?
What do I have to do to unlock the secrets? Dinner? Movie? Beer? First born child?
