Well its working now!! Not through anything I did though as I just pulled the tank off and looked around.
I'm going to try and put as many miles as possible on it in the next week as I've got another trackday the 23rd and I would hate for it to play up on track.

This may sound a bit daft but lift the tank with the bike running if possible or feed from a fuel bag, then jus have a feel at some of the connector or move some of the wiring I had a gremlin similar to this which turned out to be a dubious electrical connection under the tank your removal and poke around may have put it straight for now but it will return at the least oppourtune moment, whilst under there make sure that fitting of the tak isn't restricting any of the fuel / vaccum hoses as this may also have been a cause !

yeah i had a problem like this which has just come back again
taking the tank off is a good start and then my problem goes away im suspecting a fuelling issue with crimped or crooked pipes/lines. a garage took the tank off and revved it telling me that its knackard...trust them. i know however that if the bike was being starved of fuel that taking the tank off and buring the fuel in just the carbs and cylinders would indicate the ame problem as the carb float bowls need to fill again properly to cure it? right yes? and just taking the tank off and starting just kinda makes it worse yes?
stupid garages, wont go back there. yeah but the pipes need to be exactly straight to cure the problem otherwise its either full on cut out or lumpy bumpy city in the high rpm
