hiya all,
I'm guessing the answer to this already!... I have to ask the question though, as it all could work out pretty expensive!
Ok, its a 17yr old bike - I'm getting it overhauled. I want it back up to spec, and reliable, rather than constantly back in the workshop, like in 2008.
Do i, as a matter of course, replace all rubber seals as i go? Or is that overkill?
I'm getting a local workshop to do the work, as some of its well outside my DIY comfort zone.
The area's I'm thinking about are:
1) Carbs are leaking (Possibly just float valve stuck.):
* Should I get the Carb Gaskets and o-rings replaced as a matter of course - they are £22 a carb!
2) Forks - Dust seals & inner seals?
* When getting the Fork oil changed
3) Brakes - Brake caliper Seals?
* I'm having braided hoses put on. The bike is still on the original Rubber hoses!
Hope you can advise
Cheers
Martin
