No ram air on mine...yet.

I am fitting some "HRC wannabe" carbs today and will test them later on - carb tray, drilled and ground up carb bracket, cut down funnels, no filter or box and NC24 round bottom slides too.

Mine is a low budget affair as I am a proper rookie and never going to set the world on fire so all DIY for me.

If you are serious about winning then you will want to speak to Mike@BMC racing - the work he does on these NC's is bob on. Ram air, dummy tanks with teeny alloy fuel cell, lightweight subframes and so on and on.

Veyr very fast bikes he runs and I believe he also has sprinkled fairy dust on another of the racers on here, Simon_ed, as his bike is looking super tidy and is going to be one of the fastest at the EMRA meetings.

Is not a bit dodgy running open carbs, with any fling shit? sureley it could go pear shaped, or is it quite a common thing to do?

It could, but in all truth the engine will probably need refreshing before it's down on power from crud in it. I run the open carb setup, no quitening gears, full system etc, and the bike has good power.

Have you got a spec on your carbs i could look at, and do you have a ram air system in place aswell?
