NC30 Front end removal - Stand

Post by Bike_Nut » Mon May 11, 2009 9:47 am

Does anyone have advice on how to lift the front end up to remove the forks? I am nervous about putting a jack under the front exhaust manifolds. I suppose I could make a T-piece out of wood that fits between the pipes and distributes some of the weight onto the sump but it all seems a bit barbaric to me. Is my only other option to make a stand that fits into the steering stem or does someone have a cunning plan?

Thanks

i usually just put some wood between the sump and downpipes then lift from there, but know a lot of people on here put an axle stand under each footrest hanger ;)

Where abouts are you? Someone might be close enough with a headstock stand you could borrow?!
Before I got one it was a trolley jack and block of wood shaped to fit onto the sump through the down pipes, worked well.

If your bike is supported with a rear paddock stand then I'd be quite happy with a piece of wood under the front exhausts with a trolley jack or similar.
How hard can it be?
