Exhaust, Muffler, Silencer Options

Post by cakeman » Tue Apr 28, 2009 11:10 pm

Hi, ive been looking around for quite a while for muffler options for my RVF 400. CUrrently i have a sent of Twin Carbon Cans, which look like thy have been on the bike since baby jesus was born.

Im guessing they are two 1" pipes going in to the muffler (thats what it looks like). Im wanting to go for a a single pipe and something which is a lot deeper and a bit louder. The Tyga Maggot is out of the question as it is way to loud.

Im wondering:

1) can i get any old muffler and get my 2x1" pipes that go in to the Can made in to a 1x2", and will just about any End Can fit?
2) are there any End Cans that anyone can recommend that are a bit louder and much deeper in tone?

Thanks in advance as always.

Andrew

hello mate, get some pictures if you can of what you have up on here, because if you want to change it i'm sure many people would be interetsed in buying a twin can setup.

Plus if its somehting rarer (jhs, ethos, moriwaki etc..) it'll be worth a few bob to.

So say you've done that and sold youyr system and your not too fussed about power gains, Find yourself a cheap original set of pipeowrk and then an endcan of your choice, maggot, bluflame etc.

Personally why not look into getting what you have re sleeved to bring them up to date, a bit different and i bet still a good noise
