Say it is possible to squeeze a big v-twin 1000c (TL,SV,etc?) into the NC frame, are there any reasons why it shouldn't be done?HELL NO!
Can the frame & drive system take the extra power? (chain/sprocket upgrade required?) only one way to find out for sure- though its getting uprated rear shock, ducati 996 front end, wider vfr750 rear wheel before the engine gets measured up and contemplated for fitment
Are these v-twins heavier or lighter than the 400cc V4?smidge heavier![]()
Is handling going to be adversely affected? (can't see why it would be other than the power delivery differences)as above- ducati 996 front end and wider 17'' vfr750 rear wheel with moddified rear hub
Will the V4 Gods smite me down for changing the engine? be a good way to go? eh?

Re: engine upgrade ideas -anything tried successfully
Hmmm, I've already got a ducati 996 front end, 750 rear wheel conversion and an unhealthy obsession with tinkering with bikes. If it could be proven it would solve any potential "which bike do I get next?" Questions, it would just be get another nc30 frame (or as the market is going another nc30) get the engine in place, and then swap all the bits over. I hope someone can get it done, it would be very interesting to see done. Do the Vtr engines all have side mounted rads? The Sp1 or Sp2 engines would just be too expensive an option. The Sv motors I assume are more affordable and the origonal Tl1000's must be cheap enough by now. Anyone got a tape measure?
:) Rsvr motor? It'd never fit surely, but what an engine.

Need any used Nc30 parts? Want to fit a Ducati front end to your Nc30? If so give me a shout.

I have a second frame

firestorm engine means the bike is primarily Honda still, side mounted rads hey are.... Tl1000 is the way I plan to go as hoofing torque- that o maybe a trx850 as full engine sat in mates shed to measure up for frame mod

Then this may be of some interest to you...
Unfortunately Tygaboy doesn't post as much as he used to and the project seams to be at the same stage as mine, not a lot happening, but the link may still be of interest. Check out his other projects - the SV may be of interest to you, I know it was for me, and thats how I stumbled across it.

Re: engine upgrade ideas -anything tried successfully
The short answer is a Big Bore NC23 (was going to do a 600 conversion but couldn't bear the thought of chopping the frame), with a ZXR400 USD front end, plus a few other bits and pieces. A little bit about the front end conversion is over here.Vzzzbuxt wrote:whats your project??squirrel_hunter wrote:Then this may be of some interest to you...

The trouble is after finding Tygaboy and reading his posts I want to get into GRP and CF and really thats whats delaying the project. At the moment I don't have the time or the space to pursue this angle.
I also have a TZR125L in boxes and my old SV is still in the garage, I promised the MoFo's it will live again one day...
