A quick guide to changing the fork oil on your CB400 Super Four.....
Take off the small bolt on the back of the forks and pump out the old oil, when you have it all out do the other one... Replace the bolts and fill with 499 ml of 10 wt fork oil...
If you think the front end is soft try some heavy oil like 15 or 20wt untill you have it right....
I hope this answers your question

Thanks for the replies guys the information seems better than what I have been privately informed I was told from a bike shop to refill with 455ml of 10wt oil I did this but the front is very soft so I will go the heavier oil and try that thanks again. Jack

Re: Superfour fork oil
Hey, apologies for the thread revival, but my 93 CB400 has way mushy/soft forks that I believe bottom out on some holes. For you imagination, if I brake "hard" when coming to a stop, the bike bounces to and from. I have a russian manual I translated in word, but those have adjustable forks, which uk ones don't seem to have, and doesn't mention the oil change either.
I'm not entirely sure if this means new springs, or oil change, but I was going to try to drain them and fill with 15w as suggested here, I'm just wondering if that's 499ml per fork or between both?? For another bike I read 150ml, so 499 sounds like a lot.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Superfour fork oil
It is 499ml per leg, easy just pour in a 500ml bottle.
