Clutch issue advice.

Hello, got an issue with my clutch, I feel it may be plates but just wondering if anyone else can help diagnose as I may be wrong.

Was going through the bomb hole at snetterton and gave the bike a handful of throttle the revs climbed up past 5 k, but over 5k the clutch felt as if it was slipping and the bike wasn't getting any faster. The clutch would still engage and disengage but the bite point was very weak and far out compared to normal.

slipping clutch doesnt usually cause the adjustment to feel any different.

if its all of a sudden gone different then smoething might have come loose... this could be either one of the adjuster on the clutch lever / the engine side where it meets the clutch arm or somethign with the clutch itself.

worst case is you could have broken a clutch spring or something and its changed the clutch.

does it still feel like its slipping under hard accelleration in first couple of gears? (rpm increaseing but speed not?) werid bite point?

id examine all teh clutch cable connections and check the free-play is correct.

if nothing is amiss take the outer sprocket cover off which has the cluthc arm on it and check its all working ok.

finally id take the clutch cover off and inspect the clutch and plates and springs.

It slips under hard acceleration yeah, and the bite point is much further out than normal, seems to be over 5k it's slipping. Rpm increases but speed doesn't. Will pull my panels off when I have chance and inspect the cable and what now, that could be the issue I suppose, but I feel it may be springs or plates.

yes most likely but always worh checking the simple stuff first as you wouldnt be the first person to tear down a clutch to find out the issue was to do with cable / arm

My NC30 clutch also started to slip at Snetterton last year. It was blowing a gale and clutch was letting go under load on pit straight into the headwind. I stuck a new set of plates in and it was fine next time out at Oulton Park

That's some solid advice right there. Start with the simple stuff and then move into the clutch basket if need be.
