Hi i wonder if anybody could help me, i have just tried to start my nc35 after it has been in a accedent, no luck i took one of the ht leads off and put a plug on it and laid it across the frame,no spark.
There is damage to the top farining and the clocks bracket is bent, is there anything on the back of the clocks that could cause it not to spark .
Also is there a way of telling if it is derestricted ??
Firstly de-restriction is checked by either 1) riding it or 2) opening up clocks to see if the speedo dic is bent (google for a guide on this if unsure or 3) fitting a speedo converter will do it automatically.
On the spark issue, I think the best action is to firstly check the battery or get a jump etc (rule out battery first- if its cranking strongly then great), check the kill switch, then pull out all the plugs and check them individually. Let us know the out come then we can work off that, before you rip the bike apart to find its a duff plug or a kill switch.
Going on the internet is like owning a gun... Just point, click, then shit your pants waiting for the Police to turn up.
I've just taken the rear 2 plugs out, looks a nightmare to get the front ones out i cranked it over with help from jump leads and the 2 plugs where sparking :D :D . i guess before it was not turning over quick enouth. Cheers for that.
I through that the front 2 cyls. would have started up, but no luck, it has not been started for 3 months, i did put half a gallon of fresh petrol in it, how does the fuel system work ? is fed by fuel pump.
regards alistair
Many thanks for the help, another thing has the fuel tap got a vacume valve on it, ie fuel will not come out unless the motor is running or being cranked over??
cheers alistair
