Hi, can anyone recommend what's worth replacing whilst I've got the clutch basket off the bike? Also what are the thoughts on OE Honda Clutch Plates as opposed to EBC? And if EBC do I go for standard road use ones or the Kevlar Race set?
Never done a clutch before on a bike, so this is a first for me, but I've been looking at the videos online and note I need a special tool (found one off the chap off ebay who makes special tools for £12).
Cheers
Dan

Re: Clutch replacement RVF anything else to change?
Are you planning on racing the bike on a track?
If not then either genuine oem or EBC should be fine.
What is wrong with the clutch now? Id get the plates out first and check them for wear before ordering new ones.
Sometimes clutch springs can cause issues of slipping along with wrong types of oil.
Wouldn't be first person with a VFR to order new clutch plates to find out the old ones are ok when removed.

And a popular mod is to add a spring when putting it back together. It increases the lever pull a little, but also makes the clutch pack clamp harder.

I have not seen this taken apart, but is there a provision for another spring or do you have to modify?vfrman wrote:And a popular mod is to add a spring when putting it back together. It increases the lever pull a little, but also makes the clutch pack clamp harder.
If i can wrench on cars, bikes should not be a problem, right?...

Just put it on top of the existing springs
