400 Superfour running rich

Post by frankieboy » Sat Jul 12, 2014 8:32 pm

My 1994 400 Superfour is running rich. Ticks over fine, runs fine, but there's a smell of petrol when ticking over (hot and cold). Choke cable fine, carbs are balanced, air filter is clean - any ideas folks?

Thanks Dobbsy, Thought that myself, but theyre both fine. Bike was derestricted when the carbs were balanced, so was thinking a jetting problem, but it ticks over fine and goes fine - strange one.

Hi newbie owner of second hand cb400 here, need help about my bike,i just bought it last 2 weeks ago, after a week ive noticed that the accelerator cable is only one but i checked the manual using internet suposed to be its a two cable,question-in this case can this 1 cable use affect the performance of the bike?

Thanks in advance!!

CB400 Superfour has 2 cables one pulls the throttle open the other pulls to close the throttle, although the springs should be enough to close the throttle on their own.
The pull off cable is original equipment put there by the manufacturer it would be better if you replaced it.
