Hi,
I have been meaning to do a through clean of my nc21 carbs for a number of years but never got round to it, however I've decided this is the time to do them, I've so far taken them off the bike and they are filthy but by the look of the screws etc they are untouched :)
Upon removing the fuel inlet pipe one of the plastic joints snapped so I've got no option but to split the bank now, has anyone done this before and any tips or pointer on how to not cause to much of a headache when redoing them later on down the line?

Re: Splitting the carbs and rejoining
The joint pipes sometimes just give up on life. They did on my 35 a few years ago and cost a bomb to replace (it wasn't me who broke them!). Just take your time with it and try and understand how everything goes back together before you pull it all apart!
Try not to mix the bits from each carb up. I don't know about the 21, but on the 30 and 35, depending on how they are set up, the main jets and emulsion tubes can be different specs from front to rear, which can cause issues if they get put back in the wrong carb.

they dont look that bad in that photo unless you already started cleaning..
you dont need to take the butterflies out though to replace all the rubber o-rings.
just lastweek i rebuilt a carb using new honda gasket kits.. not cheap but it got the job done.

I wasn't aware of that at the time, I took them in for ultrasonic cleaning on Monday, should be done by Thursday.
Luckily I have a far amount of parts on the shelf to keep the cost down, should be great once back on the bike!
The float seat filters looked like they'd been inside a vacume cleaner :)
