nc24 hub removal

Post by jyjet » Sat Nov 15, 2008 11:00 pm

hi all, i've scrolled the search section for info on hub removal, but found nil, is it just a case of undoing the 36mm nut and it falls apart? if only.!!!

im not sure if it is much different from the nc30 hub removal procedure but heres what i know........

after removing the wheel remove the hub nut(on the left hand side)on the nc30 this is 46mm and according to the manual the torque settings for this is the same for the nc30 and nc24 so i am guessing they are the same size...46mm!!!
the hub nut is a stake nut so you have to unstake it before removal and you will need someone to apply the rear brake....the nut is very tight.
remove the spring washer and thrust washer.remove the brake caliper and slide it off the disc, support it somewhere...i usually do this on the passenger pillion pegs.
slacken the chain and remove from rear sprocket, then draw the sprocket from the hub assembly on the left hand side and then draw the brake disc out from the bearer holder on the right hand side.

re-fitting is reversal and remember to torque the hub nut 165nm........the manual says the hub nut should be replaced but if it is in good condition then re-use........

please,god,....give me the chance to prove that winning the lottery won't spoil me!!!
